    Reminder that Study Hall is based on ASU Universal Learner, which has a lot more courses. Some of which are self-paced. And they count towards ASU residency if you are transferring in credits they like for an ASU degree. Just know that degree seeking students at ASU cannot use them, just make sure you finish all your SH or UL courses before you enroll if you want to do a degree with them. If you take at least 12 credits with SH or UL you can get admissions without a HS diploma or GED.

    First of all, unless you are absolutely and 100 percent certain that you will be able to utilize your degree program completion for an advanced career in your field, then by all means, I would say go for it. However, that has not been my experience. Their primary goal is to suck you in and keep you stuck in their system by selling you false hope, and then keeping you prisoner as their "adjunct faculty" to teach others and suck them into their faulty programs. It's a huge scam! After getting halfway through my online bs program, I left and did a reverse transfer back to community college, only to find out that nothing from my transcript that I completed at that university was worth a damn. Now, after $25,000.00 student loan debt and using up a lot of Pell Grants, I'm stuck with a low GPA, a bunch of classes that I didn't need and couldn't use, and a heap of student debt. Save yourself the trouble... stick with your community college and transfer. 😅

None of the Utah schools including Brigham Young, Weber State University of Utah Southern Utah or Utah State want anything to do with this school . Most of their courses are easy to pass it’s just competency and all you have to do is answer one question a week, and respond to two students . One negative I do have with WGU is if you start you better not change your mind. I wanted my degree 4 years ago and decided to start with them. Life happened and although my classes started, I dropped them 30ish days in. Of course, my fault, but now I feel they’re the best school for me because of their curriculum style but I’m having to jump through hoops to reenroll. You have to do an SAP appeal to be able to use FASFA (10 business day process must have documentation), must pay any collections from prior attendance (up to a 45 day process if you can pay it off), and THEN once you complete both of those and they’re approved, there is a 60 day readmission process where it’s quite possible they may not let you come back. It’s a very stressful process. That being said, I want to go to WGU because I’m at SNHU right now and having to write a paper every single week for every class, plus discussion posts, plus your final essay is a lot. Super writing intensive. Is there a school outside of WGU that would be a good choice that isn’t super writing intensive?

Universities law or your degree but it’s competency based all you have to do is answer their stupid weekly question and responded to students. For me however, i want to teamster to John’s Hopkins PhD. Yes JHU will honor WGU but you will have no GPA. At ASU, they will honor your GPA. Graduating classes is easy. It is competency based so they’re just looking for basic competency all you have to do is answer the question of the week and respond to two students. Also, there is a reason why nome of the the Utah schools be it: BYU, U of U, U State or Weber St want anything to do with WGI. I am an MBA student at Strayer and I have zero complaints. Luckily, the cost is greatly reduced due to a huge employer discount coupled with some tuition reimbursement. I am in no rush, so I have it planned out where I am only paying about $800 a year and am spreading it over three years. My advisor hasn't changed so far. I am two years in. They have been transfer friendly. I was able to find a few courses elsewhere I could get a little cheaper/free and as long as it’s 75% similar and accredited, it’s been easy to get approved. I can transfer in up to 4 courses which is great at the graduate level. Perks I got are free subscriptions to Grammarly, Wall Street Journal, LinkedIn Learning, Sophia (don’t need, but can still use if I want), and Coursera. The school also has wellness options. I haven’t used it personally, but I think it’s along the lines of free counseling services if you are struggling with things like depression, addition, etc. My instructors have been great. Everyone has been responsive, offer help when needed, all have a wealth of real world experience in the subject matter - like HR, finance, etc. They offer live sessions to go over all of the expectations for every assignment. I have never felt confused about what is expected. Every semester they have live sessions to make sure students know they have access to tutors, librarians, writing and math coaches, etc. I don’t think I would have considered them at full cost. It’s way too expensive. But when I stumbled upon the opportunity to give it a whirl at a significantly lower cost, it was more appealing. I have tried courses at a few other schools and haven’t regretted my choice yet. I know the name carries some stigma, but for me, I am at a point in my career and life where the school name really doesn’t matter much.

    Thank you for this! Going back to school for my ADN at 35. What are your thoughts on best online schools for BSN?

      Check out Western Governors and Purdue Global! If you’ll have the RN already prior to pursuing the BSN portion, Liberty is a good online option :)

    thanks for another great college hacked episode! i remember asking my masters level controls professor for help. he told me that i should have known this information before i took his class, and that he didn't have time to teach me prerequisites. he was a pretty young fellow with a social life. eventually, i was able to learn what i needed to know, but it took an enormous amount of time and effort with many late nights of research in the library. my next controls class was with a professor in his 70s who loved sitting down with students and helping them reach their aha-moments in his subject matter! he turned out to be one of my most valued professors! just like anywhere in life, you'll meet many different kinds of people with different priorities. because of that, it's helpful if you can find the information and resources that help you know enough to select classes by professor whenever you can. this is one area where on-site residency excels, but maybe today the forums are equivalent? would you think about telling us a little bit about helpful forums like this associated with each of your most recommended schools?

      Great question! Most schools have designated (and rogue) communities on Reddit, Facebook, LinkedIn, Degree Forum, Quora, and Quizlet, to name a few!

    I’m a current Residential Champlain College student in the Game Production Management program and I gotta say, it’s a great program that combines interests of business and management with video game development. I enjoy the classes, the professors definitely care about us and they’re always willing to help us with anything in any way possible. The school also has some of _the best_ study abroad options for all students!! However, there are some things I don’t like about the school. First of all, the first-year students live in restored Victorian era mansions, which sounds cool, but many of them are in desperate need of renovations and still have mice and ant problems all year round. Unfortunately, the school doesn’t do the greatest maintenance on stuff like this. 2 of the mansions, which were renovated in 2022 and 2023 btw, have already flooded and grown mold. I can also testify that the dining hall food sucks. The point about the carrot in the hot dog bun was *WILD* and I hope to *NEVER* see that before I graduate (which is next year, 2025‼️‼️). To the point about us college students needing to party…you’re right…there aren’t many party spots around, that is if you’re under 21. Since my friends and I are mostly all 21, we’ll go out to bars and have a fun time, but otherwise, we’ll just have smaller-scale parties at each other’s places. If you’re thinking about committing to Champlain, definitely do it for the academics and just navigate through the hardships as best you can👍

      (not college related, but a few trivial comments) controlling ants is easy if it's done outside the home. skip all those interior liquid baits etc., they're just not that effective. instead, pick up something like amdro ant block or terro ant killer plus, or if you're into homemade, mix 50/50 sugar and borax, same outcome. sprinkle it around the outside of the building at the foundation near your rooms or near the kitchens. you'll see no more ants in 48 hours. the sugar says "yummy give this wonder food to the queen" the borax says oopsie gut block, sorry time to meet your maker. with the queen gone, nobody lays eggs. it's very very local, only affecting those very near the foundation, so no environmental effect. for mice, befriend your local strays. feed them a little bit of cat food when you see them, but never a lot and never leave food out (for the mice). a hungry stray is your best mouse repellent.

    Since UMPI's business degrees are not accredited and I want to earn my masters after (which requires an accredited degree), what should I do?

      @@CollegeHacked Thank you for replying back! Then what's the difference with ACBSP and AACSB? Who would that affect?

    • @CollegeHacked
      @CollegeHacked 4 дня назад

      @@ZamoraProductions More than likely won't make a difference for you. AACSB came first, it's more Ivy League. ACBSP is a practitioners accreditation, so less theory more doing. I encourage you to Google it and read more!

      @@CollegeHacked Thank you! I’ve done a little bit of research on both, but because my field is dance, my end goal is to own a dance studio or possibly teach at a community college. Therefore I want to earn my undergrad in business and masters in dance. I just want to make sure I’m setting myself up for success! 😁

    What online schools would you say is the best if someone wants to major in biology? With the end goal of getting into veterinary school.

    • @CollegeHacked
      @CollegeHacked 4 дня назад

      A residential one :) Check the vet schools you plan to apply to, but usually the requirements include residential sciences with labs.
